Winter Words and Doodles

December Word Search Fun

As the days get cooler it can be nice to pause for some fun activities.  I find word searches and coloring relaxing so combined them into one 🙂  If you or your kiddos enjoy them too, be sure to grab this freebie

Wondering how you could extend the word search activity?

How about choosing a word from the page to make an acrostic poem?  Spell the word vertically down a blank page, and then use each letter to create a new holiday themed word!

How about choosing a word to doodle?  Use bubble letter printing and write one of the words on a blank page, then doodle away!

Depending on the age, some kiddos may like to do the bubble printing on their own, and others will want a template.  I have popped in a few winter word templates that you can download for personal use.  Click HERE to grab a copy.

Or how about creating winter themed sentences?  This could be done as a vocabulary group activity, or as an individual written activity.  Select a handful of words, let the creativity flow and craft up some super sentences!  For an added splash of fun have students add a dash of alliteration, where they use words that start with the same letter in their sentences, such as, Winter is wonderful with white snow and wreaths 🙂
